PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Technical Education and Industries Abdul Karim Tordhair on Wednesday directed the Technical Education and Training Authority to come up with a comprehensive plan to expand the scope of training for seminary students.
He said that the models of other countries should also be reviewed in this regard so that students of Madrassas in the province could be equipped with various technical skills and training along with religious studies.
He also ordered digitization of the overall affairs of TEVTA and added that steps should be taken to make the entire system of public procurement and development projects transparent.
He issued these instructions at separate briefings regarding TEVTA procurement and development projects.
TEVTA CEO Aamir Afaq, Director Works and P&D Haider Ali, Director Purchase Khalid Usman, Director Finance Munir Gul and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
The Special Assistant was introduced in detail to the development projects and their financing, the speed of work on them and the procurement process for equipment and other needs for technical educational institutions.
The Assistant CM emphasized that efforts should be made to make the lands owned by the institution useful in various places of the province through private partnership.
He said that wherever modern machinery of various trades is lying unused due to non-availability of relevant qualified instructors, necessary personnel should be deployed and the personnel should be rationalized in this regard.
