The chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, declared on Sunday that the people of the four provinces disapprove of the policies taken by the Islamabad government.
“This is the fourth time that someone who has been prime minister three times is being imposed upon. Let’s say this somebody takes over as prime minister once more. In that case, there will be no growth in Balochistan for the next five years,” Bilawal, in an apparent reference to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), said while addressing a PPP rally in Dera Murad Jamali.
He continued, highlighting Nawaz’s prior tenure, saying, “The people of Balochistan lost their rights the first time this person was imposed. Upon his second appearance, he proceeded to plunder the rights of the Balochistani people. We have to wonder what allegiance he showed [to the province] when he was brought in a third time. Why should we give our fourth term to someone who has failed three times?”
According to Bilawal, he wished to convey to the Baloch rulers in Islamabad that the people of all four provinces are dissatisfied with them.
Pakistani people are not anyone’s slaves. They have no fear of anyone, and they bow before no one. Our rights will be reclaimed.
He went on to say that the PPP and the PML-N are the only two parties running in the current elections. He proclaimed, “It will be a fight between the lion and the tiger since there is no ‘bat,'” which is the emblem for the PTI election.
The PPP, according to the former foreign minister, is the only political force in Pakistan capable of eradicating the politics of hatred and division, bringing the country together, and tackling its present problems.
“We trust and have confidence in the people of Pakistan because Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto taught us the lesson that the source of strength is the people,” he said.
