Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Taxes, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, met Mr. Ali Malik, McKinsey Partner in the Ministry of Finance and Mr. Tom Isherwood, Regional Head of Technology and Taxation. Minister of State Ali Pervaiz Malik also attended the meeting.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has emphasized the government’s duty to improve tax collection through digitization efforts. The minister also said that PRAL (Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited) and REMIT data can be used to digitize the FBR tax system. Discussions include the potential for quick wins by leveraging this data and implementing daily reports via a dashboard to monitor progress in real-time.
Minister of State Ali Pervaiz Malik discussed how ongoing training can be improved through effective data generation, organization and analysis. A data-driven approach is essential to improving overall project outcomes, he said.
The McKinsey team thanked the Minister of Finance and Revenue for the meeting and assured the Minister of Finance that they will ensure the completion of the exercise within the specified time frame.
