“Deputy Commissioner Mardan, Fayaz Khan Sherpao, presided over a meeting regarding the upcoming Eid ul Adha 2024. The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioners, Additional Assistant Commissioners, Tehsil Municipal Officers, Livestock Department, Health Department, Rescue 1122, Civil Defense, and Water Sanitation Services Company officials.
The Deputy Commissioner briefed the participants on the provincial government’s SOPs to prevent the spread of diseases such as Congo virus and Lumpy skin disease among animals. All relevant departments briefed the Deputy Commissioner on their preparations and future plans for Eid ul Adha.
The Deputy Commissioner directed that:
- Registered animal markets be established with facilities for animals and citizens.
- All departments, including Livestock, should finalize their contingency plans.
- Illegal animal markets will be cracked down upon by the district administration, police, and TMA.
- Spraying and vaccination camps will be set up at animal markets to protect animals from diseases.
- Health department teams will be present in animal markets to ensure compliance with SOPs.
- Water Sanitation Services Company and TMA will select points for disposing of animal waste and ensure proper cleaning and disposal.
- All staff of Health, TMA, Water Sanitation Services Company, and Rescue 1122 will be on duty during Eid ul Adha, and their leaves will be cancelled.
