MARDAN: Deputy Commissioner Mardan Muhammad Fayaz Khan Sherpao visited Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM). He also inspected the various sections of the company. General Manager Engineer Muhammad Khalil Akbar briefed the Deputy Commissioner on WSSCM operations and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project progress. The Deputy Commissioner was informed that under the KPCIP project a modern Scientific Sanitary Landfill Site and Sewerage treatment plant will be established in Mardan. He said through the Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) project the domestic sewerage connections of six urban union councils will be connected with STP for treatment and reuse of water for irrigation purpose. The Deputy Commissioner was informed that since 2016, WSSCM has received twenty seven thousand three hundred and fifty complaints in which twenty seven thousand two hundred and seventy have been resolved.

He said that WSSCM is collecting garbage on door to door basis from Mardan city, while safe drinking water is provided to five thousands consumers in urban Mardan. He was briefed that Right to Public Services Commission (RTS) declared WSSCM the best company for four consecutive times in the field of Solid Waste Management. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Fayaz Khan Sherpao expressed his satisfaction on the briefing and said that all the available resources will be utilized to provide best sanitation services to the citizens of Mardan. He said that providing the best services delivery to the citizens is our top priority. Chief Financial Officer Naveed Akhtar, Manager Planning and Projects Imran Zaman, Deputy Manager Customer Relations Rahatullah, Assistant Manager Works Waqar Ali shah and Personal Secretary to Deputy Commissioner Ishtiaq Khan were also present in the meeting.
