Mardan: DIG Mardan Region, Najeeb-Ur-Rahman, chaired a high-level meeting today with Mardan police officers to address crime control and enhance public safety. During the meeting, he issued strict directives for continued and unbiased operations against social crimes, land mafias, aerial firing, drug dealers, and usurers.
The meeting was attended by DPO Mardan Zahoor Babar Afridi, SP Investigation Nisar Khan, divisional SPs, Circle SDPOs, SHOs, and investigating officers. DIG Najeebur Rahman reviewed the crime statistics and police performance, instructing officers to utilize all available resources to ensure public peace and safety. He emphasized that there should be no leniency in the operations against land mafias, aerial firing, drug dealers, and usurers.
DIG Najeeb-Ur-Rahman further instructed the officers to treat law-abiding citizens with respect and ensure prompt redressal of complaints lodged at police stations, aiming to restore and strengthen public trust in the police force. He also emphasized the importance of impartial investigations and timely submission of charge sheets to the courts.
Circle DSPs were directed to personally oversee patrols and ensure effective monitoring of the patrol system. The DIG also issued orders for the immediate arrest of proclaimed offenders involved in serious crimes.
Concluding the meeting, DIG Najeeb-Ur-Rahman reminded the officers, “This is your district. If you maintain peace here, your families will also be safe. Just as you manage the affairs of your homes, you should manage the affairs of society.” He added that officers and personnel who demonstrate outstanding performance will be commended, while those involved in corruption or negligence will face strict disciplinary action, including potential transfers out of the district.
In closing, the DIG reiterated that protecting the lives and property of the public is the foremost responsibility of the police, and every possible measure will be taken to fulfill this duty. He stressed the importance of addressing the grievances of the oppressed and treating the public with courtesy and respect.
