LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) plans to renovate the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, and major cricket grounds in Karachi and Rawalpindi. The goal is to fully prepare for the Champions Cup early next year.
The main focus of the Gaddafi Stadium renovation is to significantly improve the spectator viewing experience. Inspired by the Dubai Cricket Stadium, the aim is to provide an unobstructed view of the match from all seats.
The plan includes moving the hospitality box closer to the ground for a better experience, expanding the seating capacity of the Imran Khan and Fazal Mahmood grounds and installing a big screen to enhance the atmosphere of the match.
The event will mark the return of the ICC Champions Trophy after an eight-year hiatus, the last time in 2017, when Pakistan won the final by defeating India.

Meanwhile, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajeev Shukla opened up about the Indian team’s visit to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy next year.
Speaking to ANC, Shukla said that the BCCI will follow the directive of the federal government to send the Indian team to Pakistan.
“We will do whatever the government of India says about the Champions Trophy. We will send our team only if the Government of India allows it. So, we will follow the decision of the government of India,” he said.
