LAHORE: There is evident strain in the Pakistani team during the current New Zealand tour, local media stated, especially with regards to issues surrounding the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for T20 competitions. The players are voicing their displeasure with team director Mohammad Hafeez’s strict methods. Hafeez’s relationship with the more experienced players is not the best.
As to the media source, players such as Shaheen Afridi, Shadab Khan, Azam Khan, and others have applied for and received their NOCs in order to play in the forthcoming ILT20 second edition. However, when some notable cricketers sought NOCs for the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Hafeez hesitated, putting their contracts in peril.
According to the report, veteran players find it difficult to put up with Mohammad Hafeez’s long talks and lengthy sessions at team meetings. The teammates voice their displeasure, claiming that Hafeez’s pointless interjections and protracted conversations are upsetting the team dynamic.
According to team sources, the conflict is only getting started, but things could get worse before they get better. To make matters more complicated, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9’s opening match on February 17 also happens to be the ILT20 final. Notably, retired fast bowler Mohammad Amir has been granted a NOC for his participation in the ILT20.
