SWAT: Under the chairmanship of Commissioner Malakand Division Saqib Raza Aslam, a high-level meeting was held in the Commissioner Office at Saidu Sharif regarding monitoring and evaluation of ongoing development schemes in Swat, Buner and Shangla districts. In which Deputy Commissioners Swat, Buner, Shangla and C&W and representatives of other relevant departments participated.
Deputy Director Monitoring and Evaluation Planning and Development Department Malakand Division Sikander Khan briefed the meeting about the progress and quality of ongoing development schemes in Swat, Buner and Shangla districts.
“In the briefing, reservations were expressed about the quality of some development schemes.”
While presiding over the meeting, Commissioner Malakand Division issued orders to the concerned Deputy Commissioners to inquire into the ongoing development schemes and submit a report removing the shortcomings.
Commissioner Malakand Division further said that legal action should be taken against the consultants who are doing poor work, adding that development schemes are sanctioned after a long process which is done according to public interest requirements and building them in poor condition is gross negligence of public money.
He said that those responsible for wasting public money will be given legal punishment.

He instructed the concerned departments to implement the projects according to PC One and said that the quality of work should be given first priority and no compromise should be made on sub-standard work. Moreover, all the projects should be completed as per the timeline.
