The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday dismissed a case filed by Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for using “indecent” language.
In February last year, a case was filed against Rashid for allegedly using abusive language against the former foreign minister. An FIR was registered by the Mochko Police Station, Karachi, on a complaint from a local PPP leader.
The former federal minister, according to a first information report, made “indecent” and “dirty” comments, disturbing the public and creating a law and order situation in the city.
IHC Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri announced the verdict upholding Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed’s plea to quash the case filed at the Mochko police station.

The FIR registered against Rashid includes four sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), including 500 (punishment for defamation), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 504 (insulting insults with intent to disturb the peace) and 153-A (prosecution of). various groups).
According to the FIR, the AML chief used “very insulting and insulting” words against party leader Bilawal during a press conference held at Polyclinic Hospital, which led to anarchy among thousands of PPP workers.
“Many people took to the streets and I and other members Pir Bukhsh son of Ali Myrad, Muhammad Bukhsh son of Mola Bukhsh and others tried to stop it,” the FIR said.
He also said that the AML chief deliberately conspired to disturb the peace, tried to create clashes and bloodshed and spread unrest.
“Legal action should be taken against him (Sheikh Rashid),” he said.
