LAHORE: Pakistan fast bowler Ihsanullah has traveled to Manchester, England to meet a renowned orthopedic surgeon to assess the extent of his elbow injury, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Sunday.
The 21-year-old Ihsanullah has represented Pakistan in the last five international matches, the only one being against New Zealand in April 2023.
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Ihsanullah Multan Sultans has also partnered with the PCB to ensure smooth treatment of the star pacer.
Fast bowler Ihsanullah traveled to Manchester, England on Monday morning with renowned orthopedic surgeon Professor Adam Watts to deal with his elbow injury.
Remember, Ihsanullah continued to teach weight after the first injury.
Incidentally, before the start of PSL 9, Ihsanullah was training with Multan Sultans and in an interview with Private News channel, he confirmed that he was bowling at full speed.
Ihsanullah said, “The recovery after elbow surgery has returned very well and I have been bowling since the last 15 days.” “I feel better than before, I tried to swing the ball quickly in the training sessions and I was able to do it accurately.”
With Ihsanullah having to undergo another treatment, questions have arisen over whether the PCB will be able to treat the pacer’s injury despite the initial misdiagnosis, as reported by ESPN Cricinfo earlier.
However, PCB chief medical officer Dr Sohail Saleem insisted that there was nothing wrong with Ihsanullah’s work.
“There is no mistake in this,” Dr Saleem told.
“I said I want more tests because I suspect it’s just overwork syndrome. It was diagnosed by the doctors at PCB, not my team. The lab that gave us the MRI scan gave us the wrong diagnosis, so I ordered the same scan again. and the fracture we got.”
