Islamabad: Jamaat-i-Islami chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman announced on Wednesday to launch Haq do Awaam ko movement.
At a press conference in Islamabad, the JI chief said his party would launch a “historic party” against the government to elect a man who suffered the most from the recently passed budget. He said that the JI would be alone as the other parties were already very divided.
He condemned the government for suppressing the salaried class in the budget.
“I want to ask Shahbaz Sharif why he does not tax homeowners. Why don’t you block homeowners’ SIM and only block the public,” we asked.
He said that people are paying taxes for everything and that the government is dropping bombs on the people in the form of electricity.
Speaking about the dire security situation in the country, the JI chief lamented that people now have to fend for themselves.
That government is bowing down to the farmers and putting them in a difficult situation. He demanded a tax to the land owners who have more than 100 hectares of land.
He wants the government to give up the rights given to the ruling elite and wants the sacrifices to be made by the elite instead of the masses.
