Muzaffarabad: Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Uzair Ahmed Ghazali paid rich tribute to Sheikh Abdul Aziz for his tireless services regarding Kashmir Freedom of movement.
In a statement issued on 17th martyrdom anniversary of prominent freedom leader Sheikh Abdul Aziz Shaheed, he said that the nation will always remember the indelible services, undying resistance and unparalleled sacrifices of Sheikh regarding freedom movement of Kashmir.
He said that Sheikh Abdul Aziz spent most of his life in Indian jails while rest of his life was devoted to the freedom movement.
Ghazali said that Aziz was a great leader who always stood in the forefront of the struggle against Indian military occupation and challenged Indian colonialism at every stage.
He said that Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Aziz was an ardent supporter of the accession of Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan.
Ghazali said that Kashmiri people will never forget the struggle and sacrifices of their great leader like Sheikh Abdul Aziz.
He said that in 2008, when the goons of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Jammu tried to besiege millions of citizens by blocking all the roads of the Kashmir Valley, at that time, Sheikh Abdul Aziz Shaheed led millions of people towards Muzaffarabad.
“Under the leadership of the great leader, thousands of people were marching from their homes towards Muzaffarabad and on August 11, 2008, Indian forces popened fire indiscriminately on the people near Uri, in which Sheikh Abdul Aziz was martyred along with his other companions”, he lamented.
He said that the Kashmiri people will continue their resistance against Indian oppression in any case until the Indian imperialism agrees to give the people of the state their right to vote.
Uzair paid homage to Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Aziz and other millions of martyrs of freedom for their resistance for Kashmir freedom movement.
