PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) has successfully collected Rs 41.77 billion against a target of Rs. 35 billion allocated to it by the provincial government for the financial year 2023-24.
Despite the overall economic situation, the authority reported a growth of 37 per cent in FY 2023-24 compared to the collection for FY 2022-23 in which the total collection was Rs 30.6 billion. It is worth noting that over the past five years, KPRA’s revenue collection has quadrupled.
According to details shared by the KPRA media wing here on Wednesday, the authority collected Rs 36 billion from service sales tax and Rs 5.77 billion from Infrastructure Development Cess (IDC).
The authority has been working to expand its tax network and by the end of this year, it has increased the number of its registered taxpayers to more than 22,800, which has also played a key role in the growth of revenue collection.
KPRA Director General Fouzia Iqbal appreciated the efforts of KPRA employees to achieve their goals.
She thanked Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur and Adviser to CM on Finance Muzzammil Aslam for their support and guidance in helping KPRA achieve its goals.
She also paid tribute to KPRA tax payers for their trust and adherence to KPRA. “Taxpayers are our shareholders; we value and appreciate their support and contribution. Without their support and trust, the goal would not have been achieved. We expect the same level of compliance and assistance in the coming years and we assure them of my KPRA team’s full support in facilitating tax payments and related matters,” she said.
She also appreciated the tireless efforts of the KPRA team in surpassing the targets. “It is a proud moment for all of us that we have not only met our targets but also surpassed them with a staggering Rs 6.7 billion. All this was possible due to team effort,” she said, adding that they are determined to work with equal passion to achieve the goals set by KPRA for 2022-23.
“If we work with the same commitment and continue with the same approach, I am sure we will surpass the target for next year as well and continue our journey towards making Khyber Pakhtunkhwa self-reliant,” she said. APPLICATION
