Islamabad: Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zedong spoke to Interior Minister Naqvi to discuss plans for PM Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China.
When Chinese Ambassador Mohsin Naqvi congratulated him for taking over the Ministry of Interior, Naqvi welcomed the Chinese Ambassador to the Ministry.
The meeting discussed the security of Chinese citizens in Pakistan and Prime Minister Sharif’s planned visit to China.
It also discussed progress in the investigation into the Bisham case, where a Chinese citizen was killed. According to Naqvi, the Bisham incident is an attack on the friendship between China and Pakistan, and those responsible will eventually face a terrible fate.
He informed the Chinese ambassador that strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) were being implemented and new measures would be taken to protect Chinese citizens in Pakistan.
The minister said that he had met the Chinese consuls at the Chinese consulates in Karachi and Lahore, and they were satisfied with the security measures being taken for Chinese citizens.
“Pakistan will not allow any conspiracy to destroy its friendship with China to succeed,” he said, adding that the two countries have decades of close and brotherly ties that cannot be crossed by enemies.
The event was attended by Federal Home Minister Khurram Agha, senior officials of the Chinese Embassy and relevant officials.
