23rd March is known by multiple terms such as “Yaum-e-Pakistan”, Pakistan Resolution, Republic Day, and so forth. It is not just a word ;it is covered with the untiring and zealous efforts of our great leader Muhammad Ali Jinnah. On this day, Lahore Resolution was passed and the adoption of first Pakistan constitution 1956 was also undertaken. In this resolution, Quaid’s speech deliberately manifests that Muslims and Hindu must have separate states to live freely.
We acknowledge that Resolution Day is celebrated every year to revive the importance of this day because, after seven years of this resolution, we got our separate independent state. There are certain glimpses through which one can illustrate the celebration of Resolution Day, such as early morning gun salutes, military parades, President and Prime Minister of Pakistan paying homage to the founder of the country. In the evening, different talk shows present different performances in a tremendous way to exhibit some mesmerizing views of this day.
The pertinent point that can never be avoided is, that everyone celebrates public holidays to revive the significance of this day but have we paid the price of this day? Do we deserve to live in our comfort zone and watch talk shows instead of reflecting on those issues that our country has been encountering for decades? Unfortunately, we are addicted to living in our comfort zone rather than creating some ideas that can work to solve the issues of our country.
It is said with regret that we are familiar with reality such as the sacrifices and hard work that our ancestors have made. Despite knowing the ground reality, we are speechless to talk over this matter because we are not bold enough to make hard decisions and work on them. We only want to live a fictional life where everyone gets everything without making a single effort.
Perhaps, we want some changes without making an effort, but it won’t ever work. I’m not blaming any organization or government; I’m just revealing the truth that we need to keep an eye on our actions and daily habits to bring some changes to this country.
Resolution Day should be celebrated fabulously but we need to remind ourselves that without taking good actions, our country can never reach the height of success. Instead of wasting public holidays, we should work in our offices; bring innovations, spread awareness to each person, organize webinars, and seminars to promote awareness of our ancestors’ sacrifices, and also make sure that the implementation of rules and regulations is followed. If we follow some basic principles, I believe that we may attain impossible achievements in the future.
