Peshawar: A newly married bride has died due to consumption of some poisonous food in Sarband area on the outskirts of Peshawar, while the groom is admitted to hospital in a critical condition.
According to the police, the couple belongs to Afghanistan and got married last Sunday evening.
On Monday morning, the newly married couple did not open the door to their room. After breaking the bar in the room, both the bride and the groom were found lying unconscious.
The bride was declared brought dead on arrival at Hayatabad University Hospital, while the groom is admitted in a critical condition, police added.
The investigation is ongoing, any clues about the consumption of poisonous food would be found after questioning the groom, who is currently fighting for his life, the police informed.
