In order to guarantee transparency of the enforcement and challaning system on National Highways and Motorways, starting on February 1st, 2024, SMS service is being launched per the special directives of Inspector General National Highways and Motorway Police Salman Chaudhry. The commuters are advised that in the event of a traffic infraction, the violator’s mobile number will receive an automatically generated SMS. The payment mechanism requires the violation to pay the fine amount as soon as they receive the SMS. To contact National Highways and Motorway Police in the event of any disruption, use the toll-free Helpline number 130, the 0313-0111130 WhatsApp number, or the @NHMPofficial social media handles. Across the nation, the National Highways and Motorway Police have started a public education campaign regarding SMS service.
