DUBLIN: Pakistan players improved their T20I rankings after the latest update announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday.
Left-armer Fakhar Zaman has climbed four places to 57th in the list for T20I batsmen, while Imad Wasim is 52nd in the list of T20I bowlers and 16th for all T20I players after the series against Ireland.
Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam are ranked third and fourth respectively in the list of T20I batsmen.
Notably, Pakistan beat Ireland by six wickets in another one-sided match to clinch the three-match T20I series 2-1 at the Clontarf Cricket Club in Dublin on Tuesday.
After winning the first match by five wickets, the Babar Azam-led side made a brilliant comeback in the series by winning the remaining T20Is with key performances.
Chasing 179 in the third T20I, Pakistan once again got off to a disappointing start, with opener Saim Ayub heading to the pavilion after scoring 14.
However, the pair of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan came in and put together a 139-run partnership that not only got Pakistan a win but also carved their name into the history books.
Babar and Rizwan became the first pair to score 3000 pairs. In doing so, they became the first pair to have only 10 century stands. The closest to them is the Indian pair of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, who have five century partnerships.
Babar also smashed three consecutive sixes and a four off Benjamin White for the first time in his career.
After the departure of Rizwan (56 off 38) and Babar (75 off 42), Azam Khan (6 off 18) led Pakistan as the visitors chased down the target in 17 overs.
Meanwhile, Pakistan restricted Ireland to 178/7 in the first match.
