With the T20 World Cup coming to an end, 12 teams have been finalized for the next edition of the mega event to be held in India and Sri Lanka in 2026.
The upcoming ICC tournament will feature 20 teams divided into four groups of five each.
The first two points of the event are held by India and Sri Lanka. The next 10 places are determined by Super Eight qualification in 2024 and T20I team rankings.
However, Babar Azam’s team managed to qualify for the next edition with a T20I ranking (7) along with New Zealand (6) and Ireland (11).
There are two slots for Africa, Asia and Europe, and one slot for America and East Asia Pacific.
India lifted the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy after defeating South Africa by seven runs.
