KAKUL: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday shared footage of the players currently participating in a fitness camp at Kakul in Abbottabad.
The Pakistani players underwent training and drills at the Army School of Physical Training (ASPT) gymnasium.
Earlier, PCB Monday announced that 29 players will participate in the camp.
All-rounder Imad Wasim and pacer Mohammad Amir have been called up after their recent retirements. Meanwhile, batsman Usman Khan, one of the best performers of PSL 9, has also been included.
The camp will end on April 8.
“The camp, organized in collaboration with the Pakistan Army, is strategically designed to prepare the players for the upcoming series and tournaments, including the home T20I series against New Zealand, the away T20I series against Ireland and England and the upcoming ICC T20 World. Cup in USA and West Indies,” PCB said in a press release.
“The camp will focus on team building and aims to increase the physical and mental strength of the players and ensure they are in the best shape to face future challenges.
“Under the guidance of experienced coaches and trainers, players will undergo a comprehensive training regime tailored to increase their fitness, agility, leadership and strategic thinking and overall performance on the pitch.”
It should be noted that the Pakistan team is currently without a coaching staff, but PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi said on Sunday that the management is working on it. He said PCB is making a proper panel for coaches which is in final stage.
Naqvi said that the national team will have both national and international coaches, which will be finalized in four to five days.
