Running from May 28 to May 30, the exhibition attracted more than 5,000 exhibitors from 75 countries and regions and showcased more than 350,000 products, showcasing the world’s newest, most innovative and unique food and beverage products, China Economic Net (CEN) reported Friday.
The participation of Pakistan’s contingent reflects its rich agricultural heritage and growing capabilities in food production and logistics.
One of the leading companies is National Logistics Corporation, represented by Director of Plans Muhammad Yusuf.
He highlighted the company’s capabilities in international shipping, particularly in the food and beverage industry.
In the field of rice production, Pakistani companies have introduced high quality varieties of rice, broken rice, long grain rice and other special rice. Kumar Kewlani, representing one of the participating rice factories, said: “We have been exporting thousands of tons of rice to China every month since the market opened. The exhibition here is a great way to show the unique quality of rice and other food products in Pakistan.”
The frozen food section was also interesting as Pakistani companies displayed a variety of prepared foods. These include traditional Pakistani soups, biryanis and snacks, as well as international flavors to suit a global audience.
Packaged in convenient and sustainable packaging, frozen meals are designed to appeal to busy shoppers looking for quick and healthy meal options.
In addition to product demonstrations, SIAL Shanghai 2024 opened 10 theme forums, including new retail, supply chain management, meat products, imported food, food technology, Chinese cuisine, food and beverage investment, and beverage and food distribution. The forum brings together over a hundred industry experts, business leaders and thought leaders to discuss the latest trends and hot topics in the food and beverage industry.
