LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has urged former cricketers to take important suggestions related to domestic cricket.
For the first time, Naqvi sent former cricketers to improve and make domestic cricket more interesting. His names are Inzamam-ul-Haq, Moeen Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Isuni Khan, Saqlain Mushtaq, Mushtaq Ahmed and Waqar Isuni.
Aiming to bridge the gap between international and domestic cricket, PCB will host First Class, One Day and T20 specials under the name Champions Trophy.
Five teams will compete in the qualifying T20, ODI and First Class tournaments and a total of 150 top cricketers will be divided into 30 teams to be selected based on their performances. There will also be no ODI tournaments for regional teams. suggested.
The board also plans to gather five top-level cricketers for the project to attract sponsorship to the new team.
PCB will finalize the policy for domestic contracts. To date, all three formats have offered player contracts for the Champions Trophy. The estimated number of players who will receive a contract is 150.
It should be noted that this meeting has nothing to do with Pakistan Cricket Team affairs, but valuable suggestions will not be overlooked.
Naqvi had earlier said that he interacted with the cricketer and took his advice to improve his cricket.
He also said that he is in touch with a cricketer who wants to improve cricket rather than being associated with a channel.
He said that the future of Babar Azam as a captain will be discussed and decided by former cricket players (who have proper cricket knowledge) and will not do anything.
He said key decisions would not be in the hands of armchair critics – a reference to criticism of players and managers on television and social media.
“No decision should be taken in haste and desperation,” he said, adding that he has been in touch with former cricketers who want to restore the lost glory of Pakistan cricket.
A visible Naqvi said that he did not allow the important PCB to run on Twitter. He said he was not bothered by the amount of criticism he received on Twitter.
He also said that action will be taken against the selection committee after his team exits the mega event.
The PCB chairman said he would meet team coach Gary Kirsten and assistant coach Azhar Mahmood to discuss the team’s performance and future course of action.
“Kirsten gave a detailed report on the Pakistan team’s performance in the T20 World Cup,” Naqvi said.
He said he was aware of the allegations of factionalism and politics in the Pakistan team. He said, a player’s entry into the national team will depend on his performance in domestic cricket.
He said the players should confirm their availability for Pakistan before any league. He said no one was allowed to play league cricket before the Bangladesh series.
