Due to the increase in pneumonia in the provincial capital Peshawar the deaths of children have also increased due to which fear has spread among the citizens. It should be remembered that the largest children’s medical center in Peshawar is Safwat Ghayur Children’s Hospital on which due to rush the staff is treating the patients very badly. So far there have been many incident between the parents and the staff.
Imran, a victim’s father resident of Peshawar’s Sarabland pura Hussain Chowk said that clumsy doctors are playing with the lives of children of poor citizens in the Government Safwat Ghayur Children’s Hospital. He told the media that he took his child to the hospital where the doctor prescribed him medicine for another disease instead of other and the tests also showed that disease but when the child was taken to another doctor he cleared all the tests and declared that the child does not have TB or any such disease.
Imran said that the ungainly doctors in Safwat Ghayur Children’s Hospital not only prescribe the wrong medicine to the patients but also call minor sick patients to their private clinics.
He demanded the Minister of Health, Secretary Health and other relevant authorities to take action against the said doctor.
Apart from this the performance of Mother and Child Care Mulviji Hospital is also not satisfactory where the children’s ward and the emergency room are built far away from each other where the patients have to go down two floors to get the injection.
The performance of this hospital is not different from others. Due to the carelessness of the staff the cases of death and deterioration condition of children are happening.
However the cases are resolved by making peace with the hospital administration and the parents. It should be remembered that when ordinary citizens are disappointed with these hospitals then they take their patients to Lady Reading Hospital the largest medical center of the province where according to the parents of the affected child’s the staff of the hospital treated them very badly.
In this regard when the concerned officials are contacted by the media, the report is given that everything is good and all the fault is attributed to the patient or the family members. On the other hand, the media has also been banned from carrying out coverage without the notice of the spokesperson.
Besides the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also visited HMC and Hayat Shaheed Teaching Hospital in the past few days and he visited the government hospitals with his own eyes. He has seen the situation on which he has also issued orders which need to be implemented.
It should be remembered that ever since the caretaker government came there has been an increase in public complaints against government hospitals. Alternatively the treatment of patients through health justice card has once again increased the rush on the mentioned hospitals, which were earlier divided into private hospitals but due to the extension of the caretaker government the problem of funds is going on.
The health card has also been closed besides the employees are not facing difficulties in paying salaries. which has been acknowledged many times at the official level. This situation has become very alarming for the common citizens as they bring their children for treatment in these government hospitals where they are waited on by highly unethical staff which further aggravates the panic of these patients.
Therefore it is necessary for the higher authorities to take strict disciplinary action against the staff of all the above-mentioned public hospitals to correct their attitude and to start the process of dismissing the doctors and staff who misbehave with the patients so that in the future No one could commit these creative crimes.
Until the system of punishment and relief is activated in government hospitals then the abuse of patients will continue. Therefore the higher authorities should use their powers under the MTI system to the fullest extent against such unscrupulous staff.
