DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Zafarul Islam Khattak has said here on Tuesday
The daewo bus service from Dera to Peshawar and from Peshawar to Dera will be restored in a couple of days for the travel facilities of the people of Dera Ismail Khan, Tank and Waziristan.
The commissioner said that regarding the election to be held on February 8, 2024, the divisional administration has completed the preparations for the election arrangements in all the four districts.
He said that in view of the security situation of the four districts, talks have been held with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to provide additional personnel and security for the election.
He said, after which additional security personnel will also be provided to us for Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, South Waziristan Upper and South Waziristan Lower.
He also said that the services of Pakistan Army can also be obtained if required.
He said that the polio campaign in Dera Ismail Khan and Tank has been postponed due to continuous fog and the busyness of the administrative officers regarding the election and god willing polio campaign will be restarted after the election.
He expressed these views while talking to media representatives in his office.
He said that instructions have been issued on his behalf to the Deputy Commissioners of the four districts, that no Presiding Officer shall remain in respect of duties,
Legal action will be taken against such presiding officers.
Commissioner Dera Zafarul Islam Khattak said that the cleaning campaign is about to start, fines have been imposed against the landlords who steal water from the CRBC canal, and legal proceedings against them are also ongoing.
He said that our efforts are ongoing to resolve other disputes including lands among the tribes.
