QAMBER SHAHADKOT: In response to the “prevailing trend” in Punjab where party candidates were denied the “arrow” emblem, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced on Monday that his party would file a legal complaint with the government. PPP Senator Taj Haider wrote to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Sunday regarding the denial of the ‘arrow’ symbol and subsequent pushing of PPP candidates Muhammad Fayyaz Bhatti and Mujahid Islam, who are running from PP-163 (Lahore) and PP-119 (Toba Tek Singh I). The problem of PPP candidates using erroneous electoral emblems arises while the party’s Punjabi election campaign, spearheaded by Bilawal, is well underway.

Bilawal has frequently voiced his displeasure over the purported historical discrimination in the province against his party. In a recent media interview, he stated that if Punjab were given equal opportunities, the PPP could do well there this time.Speaking to the media today in Qamber Shahadkot, Sindh, Bilawal charged that the PML-N was targeting PPP candidates in Punjab in order to capitalize on the division between the PTI, ECP, and Supreme Court. Bilawal declared, “Let me tell you that the PML-N’s politics and their intentions are not democratic anymore.” “They are engaging in the same outdated politics that you are all familiar with.”
