ISLAMABAD-KARACHI-LAHORE: Launching a dedicated Russian language helpline was a strategic move by Pakistan Single Window (PSW) to promote international transit trade with Central Asia and advance trade facilitation.
By providing this helpline, traders from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, in particular, who use Pakistani ports as transit routes for imports and exports with Central Asia, can overcome a significant linguistic barrier. The helpline is anticipated to close gaps in communication and offer direction and support to international traders in order to guarantee adherence to Pakistani customs laws and trade laws that are relevant to transit commerce.
PSW is making a significant addition to its helpline service by adding a Russian language option to the transit module of the WeBOC system. This will make it easier for traders and their authorized clearing agents to file transit statements. This action further shows PSW’s focus to offering complete solutions for international traders.
The Russian Helpline is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers knowledgeable customer care agents to handle inquiries. For assistance in Russian, traders can call the PSW helpdesk at 021-111-111 779 and ring 3.
Pakistan has inked transit agreements with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan as part of its aim to establish Pakistan as a commerce, transit, and transshipment hub, and to strengthen regional connectivity with Central Asia and beyond. In addition to lowering language barriers, PSW anticipates that this program will promote more trade by making doing business easier and facilitating information access.
