Guitarist, mentor, and pioneer Adnan Afaq is hospitalized due to stage IV stomach cancer, and he is facing the disease in the center of Pakistan’s music scene.
Adnan, who is well-known for his remarkable guitar playing and contributions to music education, is fighting the illness at SIUT in Karachi, and medical professionals are not sure if he will be able to receive treatment.
A devoted follower of guitar great Steve Vai, Adnan Vai also serves as the chairman of the Arts Council of Pakistan’s music department.
Adnan experienced an inexplicable, persistent stomach ache for the past six months.
He had thrown up after eating more than a month prior. It was at that point that his cancer was identified through a CT scan.
