RAWALPINDI: Former federal minister Sheikh Rasheed on Monday predicted that the government will soon be sent packing as technocrats will hold the reins on September 20.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Rashid said the government was preparing to step down and talks were underway for a new arrangement. He also announced that he will be fully involved in political activities from August 31.
He said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif would not extend anyone while Shehbaz Sharif had no power as the government had gone to waste.
“I am facing 14 cases but I have not uttered a single word against Imran Khan and his wife unlike others who have made statements under Section 164 after staying in jail for less than four days,” he remarked.
Rashid asked the Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence to ask the police to return his valuables seized during the arrest.
“I never thought I would be picked up by the people of ‘Gate No. 4’. I only have a connection with one person, not the whole party. Workers are treated unfairly,” he regretted.
He ended his press speech by asking for amnesty from Chief of General Staff General Asim Munir.
