Taking this opportunity, he said that special measures are being taken to ensure safety, timely assistance, convenience and uninterrupted traffic flow for passengers. In this regard, the NHMP Zonal Commander has been directed to use available resources to deploy additional patrol vehicles and officers for effective monitoring and appropriate assistance and guidance to commuters on expressways and highways. IG Salman Chaudhary asked the commuters not to drive carefully. If they find violations such as private or public vehicles, they must immediately report to the national highway and highway police through the toll-free number (130) and social media. The NHMP will take immediate legal action against the owner and driver of the vehicle. He also said that heavy fines will be imposed in cases of overcharging NHSO-2000. Therefore, drivers should refrain from overcharging, charging and reckless driving and should not drive unfit vehicles on the National Highway. It also advises passengers to wear seat belts, obey lane rules and drive carefully and safely in accordance with traffic laws.
