ATHENS: On Wednesday, Greece rescued 18 migrants and retrieved the deaths of two people, a woman and a man, along a rocky shore on the island of Lesbos, according to the coastguard.
A coastguard official believes the migrants arrived on the island by boat in heavy winds in the Aegean Sea. According to the migrants’ claims, there were approximately 36 persons on board, with several jumping into the sea.
The coastguard reported that it and police were looking for other persons on the beach.
