SWAT: Chief Secretary Khyber pakhtunkhwa Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry and Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akhtar Hayat Khan chaired the high level meeting regarding preparations for general polls 2024 was held at Saidu Sharif here in Swat district .In the meeting, special measures for the preparations of the general elections and security issues were reviewed.
All the relevant administrative secretaries, heads of other departments including the additional chief secretary of the interior department participated in the meeting while all the divisional divisions of the province. Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and District and Regional Police Officers participated in the meeting through video link.
The meeting was told that on the day of the polls, a large force of the police will be engaged in security.On the direction of the Chief Secretary, officials of other relevant departments and civil defense volunteers will also perform duties to support the police under the supervision of the district police officers.
Volunteers from the Department of Forests, Wildlife, Excise, Anti-Corruption, Population Welfare, Health and Civil Defense will also be available to assist the police.The meeting was further informed that CCTV cameras will be installed at all the highly sensitive polling stations while the funds for the availability of facilities at the polling stations have been provided by the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Chief Secretary also directed to ensure uninterrupted elections in snowy districts and complete implementation of the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission.The Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry while addressing the meeting said that conducting transparent elections is our first priority.
All the officers should play their role in the national duty of conducting the election honestly and should fully support the Election Commission.He said that the clearance of the routes should be ensured for the delivery of election materials in the snowy districts and all the necessary measures should be taken in this regard.
The availability of machinery and equipment should be made possible.The Chief Secretary directed that the Department of Tourism, Municipalities, C&W, PKHA and other institutions continue to work in coordination in the snowy areas.
Earlier, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry in connection with the preparations and arrangements for the elections 2024, made a detailed visit to various schools and polling stations of Charbagh district, Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Akhtar Hayat Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Home Department Abid Majeed, Regional Police Officer Malakand Muhammad Ali Gandapur, Deputy Commissioner Swat Dr Qasim Ali Khan, District Police Officer Swat Shafiullah Gandapur were also present with him.
The Chief Secretary reviewed the CCTV cameras installed in the schools and other arrangements for polling, while the Chief Secretary was also briefed on other security arrangements and preparations including the entry and exit routes of the voters on the polling day.
Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry directed that all the preparations and arrangements in the polling stations should be completed as soon as possible and special attention should be paid to the security arrangements to deal with any untoward incident.Moreover, to ensure clean and transparent elections. All possible facilities should be provided to the voters in the polling stations.
