ISLAMABAD : From January 16 to 22, 2024, Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani will be in Kampala, Uganda, taking part in the Third South Summit on January 21–22 and the 19th Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) on January 17–20.
The two Summits provide the participants a chance to consider and emphasize shared perspectives on a variety of international, regional, political, and socioeconomic concerns.
As a seasoned participant, Pakistan has influenced and added to the NAM’s agenda. It is also fully dedicated to enhancing NAM’s capacity to address regional and international issues pertaining to security and peace.

The Foreign Minister of Pakistan will discuss endemic and modern global issues pertaining to international peace, security, and development at the NAM Summit. He will emphasize how important it is to fortify multilateralism and revitalize the NAM’s role in advancing the goals and tenets of the UN Charter.
The Foreign Minister will discuss Pakistan’s vision for increased Global South collaboration and solidarity in order to address shared challenges and reach a consensus on a blueprint for a thriving and cohesive South at the South Summit.
The foreign minister is anticipated to have one-on-one discussions with the leaders of the delegations of the other participating nations at the two summits.
