ASTANA: According to Akorda, the president’s press office, Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is scheduled to travel to Italy and the Vatican City State on January 18–19 as part of a calculated attempt to strengthen diplomatic ties and promote economic cooperation.
On the first day of the visit, President Tokayev is expected to hold discussions with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and President Sergio Mattarella of Italy. A wide range of bilateral topics will be discussed in order to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

President Tokayev’s participation in the “Kazakhstan – Italy” investment roundtable as part of the visit will give him a forum for discussion with the executives of well-known Italian businesses.
Additionally, on January 19, the Kazakh leader is supposed to meet with Pope Francis at the Vatican. We will discuss cooperation efforts and common values on a number of fronts during this conference.
President Tokayev’s agenda also includes visits to the headquarters of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the UN World Food Programme (WFP), underlining Kazakhstan’s commitment to global efforts linked to food security and sustainable agriculture.
