ISLAMABAD: Newly unearthed evidence has revealed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Raoof Hasan allegedly maintained communication with Indian journalists and pushed an “anti-state agenda”.
According to details, foreign and Indian lobbies are actively supporting PTI founder Imran Khan’s “anti-state agenda”. Raoof Hasan was revealed to have had shocking communications over WhatsApp, first with American Ryan Grim and later with Indian journalist Karan Thapar. On 19 November 2022, Raoof Hasan, in his capacity as media coordinator of PTI, officially addressed Indian journalist Karan Thapar.
In his first WhatsApp exchange, Thapar asked about a potential interview with PTI chief Shah Mahmood Qureshi. On 24 November 2022, Karan Thapar shared his YouTube interview with Raoof Hasan, which included comments by Rana Banerji, India’s former Minister of Research and Analysis (RAW), regarding Pakistan’s current Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Asim Munir.
In an interview, Thapar described General Munir as a tougher leader from India’s point of view. The next day, Thapar sent another interview regarding the army chief to Hasan, who responded by disparaging the concerned Pakistani journalist and sharing sensitive information about the army chief with Thapar.
Reliable sources confirm that in a February 2023 WhatsApp message, Raoof Hasan praised India’s stance on the Ukraine issue while strongly criticizing Pakistan’s stance. Hasan stated, “India’s position is understandable given its desire to remain neutral.” Hasan further criticized Pakistan, telling Thapar, “Pakistan’s position is shocking. Despite abstaining from the UN vote, there are reports that Pakistan is supplying arms to Ukraine.”
