TEL AVIV: Large-scale demonstrations have occurred all around Israel, with protestors demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s administration, the release of Israeli prisoners detained in Gaza, and an end to the conflict in Gaza.
Al Jazeera reporters on the ground said that thousands of friends, family, and supporters of the Israeli prisoners kidnapped by Hamas on October 7 rallied in Tel Aviv’s “Hostage Square” on Saturday.
As Sara Khairat of Al Jazeera reported from Tel Aviv, “this is unprecedented because, throughout the beginning of this war, everyone had agreed, including the anti-government protesters, that they needed to be unified at a time when there is war, at a time when captives are still being held in Gaza.”
There was a substantially greater number of people in the square.

Our source stated, “Roughly a few thousand people [are] gathered here right now.”
“Bushah bushah, bushah,” which translates to “shame, shame, shame,” was yelled by protesters in reference to the administration. Some even accused Netanyahu and other authorities of being responsible for the events of October 7.
Khairat remarked, “This just gives you a sense of how angry some of these people are.”
People in Jerusalem staged a protest in front of Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s home, calling for the release of the over 100 prisoners who are currently being held in Gaza.
